Commencement

Commencement is a milestone in which we celebrate our students' achievements as they complete their academic journey at ESF. To mark the significance of this occasion and to help us honor our degree candidates, we are planning receptions, award ceremonies, and other festivities.

Livestreams will be available for both Commencement ceremonies—the link will be shared and posted here during the week of each ceremony.

Inclusive Excellence Reception

Gateway Center
3 - 4:30 p.m.

Honoring our graduating Graduate Diversity Fellows, international students, students of color, EOP students, LGBTQIA students, students with disabilities, and others who identify as underrepresented.

Each graduating student will receive a special Inclusive Excellence cord or serape to wear during Commencement festivities.

Wednesday, December 7

Commencement Rehearsal and Champagne Toast

Gateway Center
3 p.m.

The ESF Alumni Association will host a champagne toast in the Gateway Center immediately following rehearsal.

Saturday, December 10

December Soiree

Drumlins Country Club
6 p.m.

This semi-formal dinner-dance is sponsored by the Undergraduate Student Association in honor of August and December degree candidates. Tickets are required and will be available to purchase throughout November.

Graduate School Student Checklist

Caps & Gowns

All students who participate in Commencement are required to wear a cap and gown. You can obtain these through the Syracuse University Bookstore in the Schine Student Center or by calling (315) 443-9900.

December 2022 commencement is at Hendricks Chapel, on the grounds of Syracuse University.

Parking

Guests may park in Syracuse University's Standart Lot, no pass required. If you need a handicapped parking space, please make arrancements by calling 315-470-6660 no later than Dec.2.
