Spotlight on Student Research March 31, 2020 | 11am - 2:00pm

This event is canceled for 2020.

The 2020 Spotlight Symposium will be held in the Gateway Center on Tuesday, March 31 from 11am-2:00pm.

Proposals will be accepted until Monday, March 23.

Abstracts

Abstracts are required for submission and to guarantee space in the poster session.  Student information and abstracts will be compiled into a symposium proceedings document and published online at: http://digitalcommons.esf.edu/spotlight/

Late submissions may not be included in the proceedings.

Poster Requirements

Posters should be presented in a format large enough to contain all the important components in a highly readable manner. Typical dimensions are landscape layouts of 36 inches wide by 24 inches tall or portrait layouts that have maximum dimensions of 36 inches wide by 48" inches tall. Posters should not be more than 48" wide or more than 48" tall as they will not fit on the poster displays in the Gateway Center.

For more information on producing and printing your posters for the event see:

Questions should be directed to John Wasiel of the Committee on Research for the Student Spotlight on Research.

Event Details

Posters should be hung between 9-10am.  Some attendees enjoy visiting the posters before interacting with authors, so please allow at least one hour before the event begins.
Students should plan to be at their posters during 11am-12:20pm to interact with assigned judges and evaluators, if possible.  Attendees will enjoy hearing about your experience.  If you cannot attend you are still welcome to display your poster. Dress is business/business casual.

If you want to keep your poster, please remove it before 2pm on March 31.  Posters left hanging after 2pm will be taken down and delivered to the author's departments.

Sponsors

The Spotlight is organized by the Ad-Hoc Committee for Spotlight on Student Research, a sub-committee of the Academic Governance Committee on Research (COR).

We would also like to express our gratitude to the graduate students, undergraduates, and faculty for contributing to this event.  Without your work there would be no event!
