ESF WEATHER ALERT: ESF Monitoring Wind Chill
ESF is monitoring weather conditions for today, Feb. 3, through tomorrow morning by reviewing the most up-to-date National Weather Service data and forecasting, and in consultation with Syracuse University officials, SU's independent meteorologist, ESF University Police, and the ESF Grounds/Snow Removal crews. ESF Weather Alert: Dangerously Cold Wind
The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill alert starting Friday, February 3 and into this weekend across Upstate New York. Many areas will experience below-zero temperatures and wind gusts that could generate extreme wind chills, in some cases over 50 degrees below zero. (2/2)
Dr. Chang Geun Yoo Receives NSF CAREER Award
Developing ways to increase the sustainability of the paper industry and potentially drive down the cost of biofuels has earned Dr. Chang Geun Yoo the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, the most prestigious grant that NSF offers to early-career faculty. Dr. Yoo is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). (2/1)
New SUNY Chancellor John B. King Visits ESF
ESF hosted new SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. as the seventh stop – and the first in Syracuse – on his tour of SUNY's 64 campuses on Monday, Jan. 30. The visit highlighted ESF's commitment to educating students on the environment and its position as a leader in sustainability. (2/1)
