Aesthetically, the Cranberry Lake Biological Field Station has few peers. The combination of a sunset over Cranberry Lake and the call of loons is an unforgettable experience. The station hosts both an academic summer program and a number of independent research projects by teaching and non-teaching scientists. Our mission is to provide undergraduate and graduate students with exceptional field experience in biology.
CLBS is located in the Great Adirondack region of New York State. The station is surrounded by remote forests classified as Wild Forest or Wilderness by the Adirondack Park Agency. The station is isolated by the absence of roads, and can only be accessed by boat. The isolation adds to the experience of the great Wilderness adventure, and makes it easier to leave markers and equipment unattended.

Directions
Located approximately seventy five miles northeast of Watertown and approximately thirty miles west of Tupper Lake along NYS Route 3, the Campus is served by a marina located on Columbian Road near the Village of Cranberry Lake. Accessible only by water, the main facility is located on Barber Point.
